Four people have been arrested in connection with the murder of IEBC official Daniel Musyoka.

Musyoka, who was the Returning Officer for Embakasi East Constituency during the August 9, 2022 General Election, went missing on August 11, and was found dead in Amboseli National Park in Kajiado County on August 16.

Postmortem indicated that the 53-year-old was strangled.

On Tuesday, October 18, four people were arrested in connection with Musyoka's death.

The Nairobi Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau said the deceased's phone was traced to the four.

Three of the suspects repair phones in Nairobi's central business district.

The fourth suspect told police that he collected the phone on Mombasa Road on August 14, three days after Musyoka went missing. According to the suspect, he didn't know that the phone belonged to the slain IEBC official.

The suspect, thereafter, took it to the phone fixers in Nairobi CBD, who formatted it and sold it to a woman in Kisii County.

Police said they traced the phone to the woman in Kisii Town and confiscated it.

The woman, who was spared arrest, said she'd used the mobile device for a month. Police said they'll turn her into a witness.

The four suspects, who are in custody, will be arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts on Wednesday, October 19.
