Ann Ngirita, one of the main suspects in National Youth Service (NYS) corruption case appeared in court yesterday after her surety deposited as bond was withdrawn.

Ngirita was brought to the court and held at the court basement cells before she was led to join her accomplices at Milimani court.

She had been held at Lang'ata Women's prison after Anti-corruption Court Magistrate Eunice Nyutu on Tuesday ordered that she be detained until she substitutes her bond.

The bond was Sh500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh2 million.

Ngirita was among others who were charged in 2018 with theft of money from NYS amounting to Sh226.9 million. They all denied the charges and were released on bond.
