I can fire you, Sonko tells Shebesh, Kidero

By Solomon Koko

Evans Kidero and Rachael Shebesh are under pressure from Nairobi’s other top politician to put their act together.

Mike Sonko has given Shebesh and Kidero an ultimatum to reconcile their differences by February.

Sonko has warned that if the two do not end their dispute he will get them fired through constitutional means.

He has threatened to mobilise Nairobians for a million signatures to declare their seats vacant if they will not have solved their differences during their next hearing on February 7.

“I have a good working relations with both of them but we have to put the interests of Nairobians first,” he said.

The governor and women representative for Nairobi are yet to settle the dispute over an altercation they had last year at City Hall.

The senator was speaking when he issued cheques worth Sh5.7 million to 105 youth groups from nine constituencies in Nairobi.

The funds are loans from the Youth Enterprise Fund (YEF).

He was with YEF chairman Gor Semalang’o.

It is said Sonko intends to dethrone Kidero from the governor’s seat in 2017.

Sonko is currently studying for a degree at Kenya Methodist University.

It is a requirement for one to have a degree to contest for the position.
