A regional meeting on the increase of small arms and light weapons (SALW) was informed African countries were yet to come up with proper legislation to address the menace.

Kenya National Focal Point director John Ochieng’ said yesterday that poor governance, corruption, and political crisis and/or armed conflicts, lack of human, financial and technical capacities of state agencies prevents the states from adequately addressing SALW proliferation.
