A Nakuru court has summoned Police IG Joseph Boinett to appear before it on March 1 to explain why he had not effected an arrest warrant against a litigant. The Employment and Labour Relations Court judge Justice Stephen Radido gave the order yesterday after the IG failed to arrest a litigant.

On January 16, the court had extended warrants upon lawyer Kiprotich Kirui’s word that he had not informed the IG’s office of the warrants against Nyandarua County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti and the Interior ministry under-secretary Athur Osiya.

Kimiti failed to reinstate Kipipiri Chief Lucy Methu as ordered by the court while Mr Osiya is alleged to have signed an interdiction letter handed to the chief.
