Kenya: Leading biotechnology experts from public universities have urged the Government to allow the cultivation and consumption of locally developed genetically engineered crops.
The scientists said genetic engineering projects in the country were implemented under a strict regulatory regime by the National Biosafety Authority along product value chain to ensure compliance, from transformation in the laboratory through toxicity tests, to field trials.
