Businessman Brian Yongo locked out of Judicial Service Commission suit

Nairobi, Kenya: The High Court Wednesday dismissed an application by businessman Brian Yongo who is seeking to be enjoined in a suit challenging removal of six members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Yongo wants to be enjoined in the case between JSC and Parliament where he protests against the orders issued by the High Court, which suspended proceedings by Parliament to initiate the removal JSC members.

The court ruled that he failed to demonstrate that he is a friend to the court as well as an interested party in the matter therein.

Judge George Odunga said that Mr Yongos' case against JSC Commissioner Ahmednasir Abdulahi will not be affected by the case in Parliament vs Judicial Service Commission.

He added that Yongo merely relied on media speculations in filing his case and had no substantive reasons to be enjoined in the matter.
