Nairobi, Kenya: Kenyan photojournalist Boniface Mwangi is the winner of prestigious Prince Claus award.

Mwangi, 28, is the youngest ever recipient of the prestigious prize from the Prince Claus Fund of the Kingdom of Netherlands.

Mwangi was selected for capturing striking photos of the 2007/08 chaos that rocked the country after disputed polls.

The photos, according to the fund’s director  Christa Meindersma were  “provocative photography that deals with social injustices and seeks dialogue through cultural means”.

Mwangi received the prize on Tuesday morning at the residence of the Dutch ambassador Yoost Reintjes.

Each year, the fund recognises individuals or organisations around the world who have distinguished themselves in the fields of culture and development.
