A court in Eldoret has sentenced a 20-year-old man to two years in jail for engaging in an unnatural act with an animal. Billy Kipchumba, a herder, pleaded guilty to the bestiality charges when he appeared before Principal Magistrate Caroline Wattimah. The court was told that Kipchumba engaged in an unnatural sexual act with an animal, contrary to section 162(b) of the penal code.
In mitigation, Kipchumba said he was driven by the devil to commit an unnatural act with a cow and asked for forgiveness.
Kipchumba said he was remorseful and promised never to repeat the act. "I indeed did what I am accused of, but it was due to a devil of strong sexual lust. I beg this court to forgive me," pleaded Kipchumba.
