Kenyan music duo Wadagliz have successfully trademarked their popular phrase “Anguka Nayo,” along with its accompanying logo. This move cements their position as the official owners of the song and its intellectual property.

The trademark was granted in partnership with The Hood Music, a label that has supported the duo’s rise in the music industry.

“We're thrilled to announce that "Anguka Nayo" is officially copyrighted and our logo has been trademarked. This means from The Hood Music and Wadagliz are the proud joint owners of the song and its intellectual property.

We're serious about protecting our work - any unauthorized use, reproduction, or commercial exploitation will be met with legal action, including cease and desist orders, fines, and lawsuits,” they said.

“Anguka nayo” became a viral hit, and quickly gained popularity, especially among the youth during the anti-government protest last in 2024 and currently stands at over 10million Views on Youtube.

By trademarking the phrase and logo, Wadagliz are protecting their creative work and ensuring that they maintain full ownership and control over the song's intellectual property.

Late last year, the song was pulled down from Youtube due to copyright claims. However, after a short period of absence, the duo successfully resolved the matter, and the song has since been re-uploaded to YouTube,
