Former Harambee Stars coach Bobby Williamson’s appearance on KTN Champions League has fuelled rumours he could be joining the local station on long term.

Bobby, who also handled Uganda Cranes and local giants Gor Mahia made his punditry debut when Atletico Madrid beat Leicester City 1-0 in the first leg of Uefa Champions League.

Once regarded as the best man to lead Kenya forward when he was hired in 2014  Bobby found himself sidelined in February last year when new FKF President Nick Mwendwa installed Stanley Okumbi as the Stars first team coach.

After being in the cold now, Bobby appears to have found a home at KTN with a composed analysis of Atletico Madrid versus Leicester City alongside sports presenters Moses Wakhisi and Robin Toskin.

After appearing on the show, Kenyan football fans took to social media to fuel rumours that he had joined KTN as an analyst.

Bobby, who still coaches regularly addressed the rumours surrounding his career saying he is working as an analyst for Dafabet Kenya and he just appeared on KTN Home as a pundit after invitation from Standard Group.

"Enjoyed visiting the KTN Sports studio to do a special show with Moses Wakhisi and Robin (Toskin) on Champions League live coverage," said Bobby.

“I'm incredibly proud of what I have achieved in coaching. KTN is the home of football, I can’t wait to join the team and help bring fans the best prediction, the best odds and the best analyses,” he added.

On the question of sports betting, Bobby Williamson said Dafabet Kenya is a subsidiary of the reputable Dafabet which has invested a lot in English football by supporting such clubs as Sunderland, Burnley, Blackburn and Celtic besides being Everton’s official betting partner.

"I don't think there could be a better move for me join Dafabet Kenya as I await for new offers,” Bobby said.

Asked whether he could use his knowledge of local football and connections to lobby Dafabet Kenya sponsor sports clubs, Bobby said: “Why not? I have been in East Africa long enough to know these clubs need a helping hand. I can put in a word to Dafabet but I know they are committed to local football.”
