Kahindi wins Masters Series in Thika duel

Joseph Kahindi brought an excellent 45 stableford points to emerge the overall winner of the 2022 Corporate Masters Golf Series at Thika Greens Golf Resort, on Saturday.

Kahindi, playing off handicap 23, was only a point ahead of handicap 25 Andrew Miheso, who was the Men winner, while handicap 18 Kozim Khusanov was Men runner-up on a countback score of 42 points after tying with third-placed handicap 24 Watson Njenga.

Margaret Warugongo, playing off handicap 30, won the lady winner’s prize on 39 points, while school boy Danny Chelogoi, playing off handicap 3, was the junior winner after bringing 38 points.

Corporation for East Africa (CFAO), Auto check and Betlion were some of the sponsors of the day-long tournament that attracted 100 golfers.

At Limuru Country Club, home club’s Dan Lubanga led his team of Rozita D’souza, Mukami Wangai, and Hassan Ileli in bringing a combined score of 114 points to emerge the overall winners of the 12th leg of the ongoing Johnnie Walker Series.

Kamau Kuria’s team of Timothy Njehia, Njeri Kiunjuri and Aaron Kinyanjui were second after carding a total 111 points.

They were two points ahead of the team of Robert Gachaga, Joseph Ikanyi, Simon Mwangi, and Robert Njenga.

Handicap 34 Hassan Ileli was the Men’s winner on 43 points while handicap 22 Steve Wanguru came third with 41 points.

Beth Kariuki, playing off handicap 25, was the Lady winner with 41 points and handicap 31 Susan Koinange claimed the runner-up slot on 39 points.
