The 2021 Magical Kenya Open Golf Championship has attracted about 156 players as the event enters day three at the Karen Country Club.

 The opening round of the European Tour's Magical Kenya Open kicked off on Thursday without televised coverage due to logistical difficulties.

However, Kenya Open Golf Limited (KOGL) has assured there will be live television coverage of the ongoing 2021 Magical Kenya Open on Sunday.

A golfer with the least strokes in the four gruelling days will emerge champion to command the lions share (Sh20 million) of the Euro 1million prize money in the Open.

Railway Club golfer Samuel Njoroge on Friday stepped up his game to fire three-under par 68 in round two to make the cut at the ongoing 2021 Magical Kenya Open at Karen Golf.

The 26-year old landed on the money bracket with total two rounds of two under par 140.

By making the cut, Njoroge is already assured of Sh100,000 pledged to the Kenyan team by the Kenya Breweries Limited.

Kenya Vision 2030 also announced Sh50,000 prize for the local player who will proceed to the money bracket.

“We will also reward the highest finishing local player at the event with Sh250,000 while the second and third place finisher will get Sh200,000 and Sh150,000 respectively,” Kenneth Mwige, Vision 2030 Director General, told the players ahead of the contest.

Vision 2030 has chipped in to sponsor the 15 pros who will participate in the tournament and the agreement was unveiled after a deal worth Sh3 Million  and sh50,000  for each golfer to aid their preparations.
