Kenyan premier league side Gor Mahia have completed the signing of Burundian international forward Jules Ulimwengu on a two-year deal.

The move comes after the 21-year-old forward failed to return to his Chinese second-tier side Shaanxi Chaang’an Athletic.

“Burundian international Jules Ulimwengu joins Gor Mahia on a two-year contract deal becoming the latest addition to the squad,” K'Ogallo announced on their official website on yesterday.

“Ulimwengu is a centre forward who has been featuring for his national team side and has previously played for a number of clubs in Africa including Vital’O FC, LLB Sports 4 Africa FC, Sunrise FC and recently Rayon Sports FC of Rwanda.’’

In an interview with Gor Mahia TV, Ulimwengu expressed his commitment to bag premier league crown with the Kenyan giants.

He said: “I want to thank God I arrived in Kenya safely, and my main aim in here is to work well with my teammates and to make sure Gor Mahia win the league and leaves a good mark in the continental matches.”

"I know Gor Mahia is a big team and when I came here, I knew well where I was heading. I know there will be competition to play but I will work hard and I believe everything will be okay.’’

Ulimwengu in his previous stint at Rayon Sports FC managed to score 12 goals that propelled them to lift their league’s trophy.

He now joins former Western Stima forward Benson Omalla and South Sudan international Tito Okello, Nicholas Kipkirui, Clinton Okoth and Kennedy Otieno as striking options at Gor Mahia.
