Major League Soccer (MLS) side Montreal Impact have confirmed the signing of Uganda international full-back Mustafa Kizza from  Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC , for a two year duration plus three option years.

The 20-year-old player will, however, remain on-loan at his Ugandan club until December due to the current Covid-19 situation, but Montreal keeps the option to call him back earlier if the Covid situation improves.

The deal will start on August 12.

“Montreal Impact announced on Monday the acquisition of Uganda international full-back [Mustafa] Kizza from KCCA FC, in the Uganda Premier League, for two years plus three

optional years. The deal will start on August 12,” Montreal Impact announced.

“Kizza will remain with his club until December, on loan from the Impact, because of the current Covid-19 situation, so he will not be taking an international spot on the roster.

“Montreal keep the option to call him back if the situation improves.”

Mustafa now joins Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama, who was signed by the club from Tottenham Hotspur in March.

Wanyama joined the Impact on a free transfer as a Designated Player on a three-year deal.

Mustafa has been playing with KCCA FC, one of Uganda’s most successful clubs, since 2017.

In the 2019-20 season, Kizza played 19 games, scoring five goals and adding 12 assists mainly from left-back.
