Harambee Stars and Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is set to collect his British passport in a few weeks’ time.

According to the Mail, the 28-year-old Spurs star turned down a move out of England last year to make sure he qualified for his passport.

British law demands that a person has to reside in the United Kingdom for over six years to qualify.

Wanyama now qualifies after living and working in the Kingdom for over six years.

This comes amid strong speculation surrounding the Kenyan’s departure from the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the expensive summer arrival of French midfield star Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.

Wanyama struggled with a knee injury last season but came back to finish strongly.

He also made three appearances for Kenya at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt, dropping out in the first round after Kenya were eliminated with only one win out of three.

Reports in The United Kingdom claim that Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for Wanyama among other stars as Manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to rebuild for another title charge.

His injury struggles have resulted in limited Premier League interest but he could move abroad as the summer transfer window is now open across Europe.
