Manchester United and Inter Milan race to sign Tottenham’s Danny Rose

Tottenham are facing a fresh fight to hang on to left-back Danny Rose.

Rose’s ongoing knee-injury recovery appeared to have put paid to any chance of him moving in this window.

But Manchester United and Inter Milan have reignited their interest in Rose, and Spurs are braced for approaches.

The 27-year-old England international is close to making his return to full training after his knee op and could play again before the end of the month.

Left-back remains a position which United still have question marks over, with Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian filling the role during pre-season in the absence of Luke Shaw.

Inter were running the rule over Rose last season, before he was struck down by his knee injury. He has not played since a goalless draw at Sunderland on January 31.

Rose signed a £70,000-a-week, five year deal last summer but knows he would receive a significant pay-rise if he moved.

But losing him would be a huge blow for Tottenham, having already sold their England right-back Kyle Walker to Manchester City this window in a £50m-plus deal.
