The Betway Talent Search camp kicks off today at Kasarani with 16 players fighting it out for a place to travel to West Ham next year.

The players will check in at the five star Ole Sereni Hotel this morning to start camping in what is expected to be a life-time experience for most of them.

Betway Talent Search kicked off three weeks ago with over 2000 players attending trials carried out over four weekends. Two West Ham first team coaches will also be involved in the trials.

The players remain upbeat about their chances of picking the single spot to visit West Ham next year.

A total of 16 players will take part in the four-day camp that will be overseen by two West Ham first team coaches. Mombasa-based goalkeeper Godfrey Okongo Lowo has admitted he is yet to get over the excitement of making it to the last 16.

“Football is my life. This is what I depend on for my livelihood and making it to the camp is a big step for me,” said the 23-year-old.

Lowo said he will give it his best during the camping period and remains confident that he can make it on the last day. “I expect the competition to be high because everyone wants to make it. I believe that whoever is picked will be the best and personally I will accept the decision of the coaches,” he said.

Center back, Haroun Junior admitted that making the cut for the last 16 is the biggest point in his career.
