Oliech quits Auxerre, set for AC Ajaccio FC

- Goal.com

Ajaccio announced on its official website that the Kenyan centre forward, who has mainly been deployed as a winger at his Ligue 2 side, is set to join after agreeing personal terms.

No further details of the move were made public but it is believed that the versatile attacker has landed an improved deal.

As exclusively reported by Goal.com last week, Oliech had indicated his desire to quit the Ligue 2 side, either in January or at the end of this season and his brother and manager Nixon now says the Corsica-based club have landed a bargain.

"This is a good move for all the parties, Auxerre will get a nominal fee as Oliech has less than six month to run on his contract. Ajaccio on the other hand have acquired an explosive forward who can score goals and also play football."

"Everything (including personal terms and duration of contract) have been agreed between Dennis and his new club, so subject to a medical that is scheduled for Monday or Tuesday, he is an Ajaccio player."

Founded in 1910, Ajaccio currently sits at position 16 in the 20 team top flight table with21 points from similar number of games. The Albert Emon coached squad plays its home matches at the 12,000 capacity stadium Stade Francois.

Auxerre was relegated from French top flight at the end of last season which saw the club’s leading lights including Burkinable international Alain Traore depart the club.

Oliech was equally destined to move to Turkish side Kasimpasa Spor in the summer of last season but the intended move fell through.

Oliech who turns 28 next month, joined the French ligue in 2005 penning a deal with FC Nantes from Qatari side Al –Arabi.

At Nantes he made 32 appearances scoring four goals in his three season stint. When Nantes were relegated at the end of the 2005 campaign he joined Auxerre on a loan deal before making the move long term a year later.

He has been at Auxerre since 2007 emerging as an important cog in the Bernard Casoni's coached squad.

He helped the club clinch a top three finish in the French ligue 1 in the 2009-2010 season which saw him become the second Kenyan to play in the Uefa Champions League in the 2011-2011 season where they were bundled out of the group stage without winning a single match.

At the end of last season Auxerre were relegated to second tier league. He has made 165 appearances for Auxerre scoring a total of 25 goals. This season he has found the back of the net twice.
