Man republic: Are people from these professions romantic?

First, a disclaimer, this piece is not a product of scientific research, its rather an observation meant entirely for entertainment and reflection because nothing defines human interaction more than love.

I have been thinking about the professions that carry little or no romance at all and these are my findings:

Accountants

Have you ever seen the accountant of any company? Or any staff related to the finance department, including people dealing with procurement, supplies and so on, even school bursars.

Seriously what is wrong with these people? These human beings are so serious with life they cannot even afford a smile. You will say hi to a colleague who is an accountant and their reply is “salaries are not yet ready”. For heaven’s sake who was asking about salaries?

I have never understood the negative correlation between people who handle money and romance. If you are trying to fall in love and your partner says he works in any finance department, my sister, run.

Radio presenters

Radio presenters in Kenya are not romantic, let me tell you why. Their job involves talking and listening. They listen to everyone, they talk to everyone, and they laugh with everyone.

Where would they find time to love? Secondly, you know many radio shows involve the presenter attempting to solve some sort of relationship issue with a listener, so radio presenters know the reality of love, and we all know that love and reality never go hand in hand.

When in pursuit of romance, radio presenters are a no-go zone.

Teachers of sciences

We should not even argue about this one. Before falling in love with a teacher, please ask which subject they teach. Teachers of sciences are good teachers but poor lovers.

You know, most of them think they were not even supposed to become teachers in the first place because they performed excellently in sciences, so they think love is a waste of time.

The worst of this group is teachers of Chemistry/Physics. This cohort is usually so immersed in experiments they will always see you as a specimen, not a lover.

Engineers

Why do engineers imagine that they exist in their own planet different from ours? A world defined by mechanical intuitions and calculations?

I once dated a civil engineer who was so introverted, I don’t remember ever holding a complete conversation with her. We eventually had to break up because I felt lonelier while dating her than when on my own.

Engineers have no time for anything else apart from their calculations and while they may be critical in nation building, they are poor lovers.
