Get rid of that tired looking skin

Living

For vibrant youthful looking skin, taking care of your complexion in the evenings and morning is imperative. Here are some great tips:

 1. Scrub

One of the best tips to help you look less tired is using a clarifying scrub. Exfoliating face washes will help buff away dead, rough skin, and brighten your complexion. Look for something that ‘gently exfoliates,’ as the abrasive scrubs can damage your skin. Also, wash your face with warm (not hot) water, as extreme heat can be very drying.

2. Serum

Serums contain a concentrated amount of active ingredients that are extremely beneficial to the skin. The skin easily absorbs them thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines. Serums have light-reflecting properties that result in a brighter complexion. After cleansing and patting your skin dry, apply a small amount of serum on your face and allow it to soak in, before you apply your moisturiser.

3. Brightening moisturisers

All skin types should use moisturiser to maintain youthful, healthy skin. Vitamin C in moisturisers is a plus because it is a natural antioxidant and will work to clarify and brighten your skin.

4. Hydrating face mists

Face mists are gaining popularity, as they hydrate the skin and will give you that dewy glow that peps up a tired complexion. These mists are often packed with antioxidants and healing components. Spray these either before or after applying your make-up.

5. Concealer

Concealer is a girl’s best friend, especially after a late night. However, steer clear of thick, cakey formulas, as these can settle in the creases of the skin. For dark circles, use a liquid concealer and blend well.

6. Instant illuminators

There are illuminating powders, foundations, and blushers that can be used to produce an all-over glow, or can highlight areas of the face that would naturally catch the light. A hint of colour on the fuller part of your cheeks will bring an instant radiance.

7. White liner

Using white liner and shadow next to your eyes will brighten up your eyes and help you look more awake. Try using a white eyeliner right on your water line (the fleshy area right above your eyelashes) and/or a white shadow in the inner corners of your eye.
