My ex-wife keeps causing drama at my workplace and house: How do I stop her

 Her character is unbecoming
My ex-wife is harassing me demanding we get back together She keeps storming my workplace and home and causing drama My neighbours have threatened to get me kicked out to protect their children

What can I legally do to keep my separated wife from me?

Her character is unbecoming as we mutually agreed to separate - three years ago – after agreeing on child upkeep, maintenance and visitation rights of the children.

Personally, her character has reduced to invasion of my privacy as she even comes to the office and causes drama demanding to see me for us to get back together.

There are occasions when I go to the house and find her waiting for me at the parking lot before raising hell – which would easily amount to disturbing the peace within the apartment.

My neighbours last week complained about her behaviour and threatened to get me kicked out to protect their children from witnessing our episodes.Peter, Nairobi.

 Dear Peter,

It is legally possible to stop your separated wife from hounding you.

Following your judicial separation (separation by a court order), it is possible to seek services of an advocate of the High Court of Kenya to make an application for a restraining order.

The directive from the court will practically stop your separated wife from coming to your house without your invitation, bothering, insulting or harassing you.

The orders may also keep her away from you either temporarily or permanently.

She will be in contempt of court and serve six months in prison – without the option of a fine - if she disobeys the order.

Even wives can seek restraining orders to bar their separated or divorced husbands from hounding them.

Harold Ayodo is a practicing advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is also an employee of the High Court of Kenya.
