Tiwa Savage files official complaint against Davido over alleged threats

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has officially filed a complaint with the Lagos State Nigeria Police against fellow artist Davido, citing a threat to her life and an infringement on her rights. 

The document, submitted on January 9, 2024, outlines an incident involving an Instagram post and subsequent messages.

According to the document, Tiwa Savage explains, "I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation involving myself, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, and MR. DAVID ADELEKE popularly known as Davido."

The trouble began when Tiwa Savage posted a picture of Sophia Momodu on her Instagram Story. Davido allegedly responded with messages to her manager, claiming she was taunting him. 

Tiwa Savage then responded, stating, "I told him not to reach out to me, especially as I feel like I have been there for him and his daughter, Imade, and more importantly when he lost his son."

The aftermath saw calls and messages from mutual connections, with Tiwa Savage sharing, "The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to MR. DAVID ADELEKE that he's upset that I choose to maintain a relationship with Imade's mother, Sophia Momodu who he's having issues with and also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor.”

Expressing her concern, Tiwa Savage stated, "The actions of MR. DAVID ADELEKE are unethical and can be viewed as a direct threat to my rights to life, privacy, and dignity."

As of now, Davido has not officially responded to Tiwa's accusations, leaving the public eager to hear his perspective on the situation.

The public first noticed a rift on January 6, 2024, when both artists unfollowed each other on Instagram. Fans speculated that this might be linked to Tiwa Savage's growing friendship with Sophia Momodu. Earlier, Davido and Tiwa Savage had a seemingly friendly relationship, with their children attending the same school.

Adding complexity to the story, Teebillz, Tiwa Savage's former husband, issued a stern warning to Davido against disrespecting his family due to the ongoing issues.
