The Lebanese employer who gained notoriety in a viral video alongside Kenyan nanny Roseline Atieno, popularly known as 'Rosie,' has altered her stance.
Initially expressing eagerness for Rosie's return, the employer now advises against it, encouraging Rosie to explore enhanced opportunities within Kenya.
In a video shared on TikTok, the employer displayed mixed emotions, expressing hope for Rosie's return while also recognizing the potential for her to thrive in Kenya.
"Of course, I hope that she'll be able to come back. But I don't think so. I don't want her to come back. I want her to enjoy her time with her kids, and maybe stay with them because I am pretty sure after this viral video, she will be able to get better opportunities than coming back to Lebanon," remarked the employer.
The employer, who was carrying one of her four kids, added a personal touch to the message, saying, "And if I was her, I would stay in Kenya with my kids. I would never come back to Lebanon. That's my message to Rosie, but it's up to her."
Rosie, who recently returned to Kenya for the Christmas holiday, had earlier shed light on her journey to Lebanon in 2021 in search of better opportunities. Reflecting on her time in Lebanon, she shared, "I felt like I was home. The only difference is that they were paying me. The kids appreciate me for who I am."
Discussing the prospect of returning to Lebanon, Rosie disclosed, "I will go back, but I have not set the date when. I will work with them to be with the kids until they are a bit bigger."
