Crystal Asige, a former artist under the Sol Generation label, recently clarified that she has no animosity towards her previous associates, the members of Sauti Sol.

During an interview with Massawe Japanni, Asige said that despite a prolonged period without communication with all four Sauti Sol members, she holds no grudge. She stated, "I'm fine with those guys, I don't have a problem with them."

The nominated senator said that her past legal dispute with the band was solely centered on her rights. She acknowledged not having conversed with them for an extended period but asserted that it wasn't due to lingering resentment.

"I have not spoken to them for a long time. But I know there is no such thing. It's that I just wanted my right," she said.

Talking about the origins of her conflict with Sauti Sol, Asige revealed, "They asked me to leave the label; they didn't see our collaboration continuing. I said it's fine."

In 2022, Crystal Asige initiated legal proceedings against Sol Generation Records Limited and specific individuals, including Bien-Aime Baraza, Polycarp Otieno, Willis Chimano, Delvin Mudigi, and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Kenya.

Her legal action aimed to compel the artists to disclose the earnings generated from popular songs such as "Lenga," "Extravaganza," "Ukiwa Mbali," "Intro," and "Favourite Song" in 2019. Asige asserted that in 2018, Baraza invited her to join Sol Records to write and produce a song.

Alleging that she was the sole female and person with a disability within the label, Asige emphasized her contributions to well-known recordings like "Extravaganza" and "Ukiwa Mbali" alongside Bensoul, Nviiri the Story Teller, and Kaskazini in 2019. She also claimed to have arranged and performed background vocals on Bensoul's "Favourite Song" in 2019.

Additionally, Asige contended that her original composition, titled 'Lenga,' was released exclusively on KLM's Facebook platform without her consent.

She further claimed that her work was taken and recorded as the sound recording titled 'Intro' in the album 'Midnight Train', released in June 2020, without her knowledge or approval.
