Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has promised a free show for his Tanzanian fans after he failed to show up at the Summer Amplified concert at the Warehouse Arena in Dar es Salaam on Sunday, August 7.

Speaking during a press conference held in Tanzania, the Buga hitmaker explained the challenges he faced, which led to his show being cancelled, stating that he did not intentionally plan to miss his performance.

"I was advised to stay back because of everything that was happening and so I sat down with the team, the organizers, the promoters to try come up with a way to make it up to the Tanzanian fans. We decided to do a make-up show for free this time, I even agreed to partner with them to make the show go on," said Kizz.

He said his team had resolved to communicate the way forward, but because of the vandalism caused by his fans when he failed to show up, police got involved.

"We had planned to address the issue in the morning, apologize and give the way forward, but by morning the whole issue was blown out of proportion. The law got involved due to the vandalism and the police came to my hotel and took me in for questioning," he went on.

At the police station, Kizz Daniel explains that he recorded a statement and was later released. Relaying his apology to his diehard fans, the Oshe singer said he loves his job and would not intentionally jeopardize it.

"We came to an agreement to have a show on Friday, a free show by the way. Also, I must apologize to my fans, none of this was intentional. I love my job and most especially, I love performing. I didn't mean to disrespect the fans," he said.

According to one of the promoters of the Summer Amplified concert, one of the reasons the celebrated singer refused to go on stage was because he had not received his luggage on time.

"He only said the airline did not bring his bag that is why he cannot perform because his gold chain was not there. He had one gold chain on his neck but he wanted all of them. He said cannot go on stage without his gold chain on his neck." said the promoter during an interview.

Expounding on this claim, Kizz Daniel explained that other than not receiving his jewelry luggage, he had nothing to wear to the show and tried to source a stylist last minute without success.
