Content creator Azziad Nasenya Wafula has shared a list of items she would love to receive on her upcoming birthday from those who wish to gift her. Taking to social media, Azziad, who also doubles up as an actress, said that among the things she wanted were bags of cement.
"Now that most of you are asking for things I want as gifts on my birthday, here is the list…Cement, yes you read that right, cement," she shared.
A quick search shows that a 50kg bag of cement in Kenya costs between Sh500 to Sh600. According to an article published by A4architect in 2013, "the amount of cement used in total for an average three bedroomed residential house of 100m2 in plinth area is 958 bags at a cost of KES 691,000 basing on a price of KES 720 per 50kg bag. A square meter of building in Kenya will use 9.6 bags."
With enough gifts of bags of cement, Azziad could have potentially lowered her house construction costs if that's the direction she wishes to take.
Azziad also wants to receive iron sheets as part of her birthday gifts. Kenyans Consult reports that "the cost of iron sheets in Kenya ranges between Sh300 to Sh1,000 per single sheet."
Following her requests, Azziad said many fans had questioned her reasons for wanting construction materials as birthday gifts.
“Na mnasubuliwa na his story ya cement na mabati. Mko wengi sana kwa DM. Kwani mtu hawezi amka tu na atamani cement na mabati, alaa,” she wrote.
Other things on Azziad's birthday wish list include a plant, anything leather, and support from her fans.
"Another gift is for you to keep on supporting me and brands I push. It really means a lot and a love y'all. You can also watch my latest vlog from Turkey and listen to me on radio every morning. Even on the morning of my birthday I will be at work," she added.
Azziad, who turns 22 on 16th of this month, said that she is open to receiving any gifts regardless of her desires.
"Basically anything, I can't refuse your gifts. It's the thought that counts. Ata wishes are enough," she shared.
