Kenyans on Twitter are over the moon after celebrated American actress and producer Viola Davis stepped out wearing a necklace from Kenya.
Through social media, the 56 year old actress who is the first African-American to achieve the Triple Crown of Acting, tweeted that she was out on a date proudly wearing the golden leafy necklace.
"Date night with my J! Necklace from Kenya," she tweeted.
According to online sources, a leaf necklace may be a symbol of growth and fertility meaning that one's personal growth is what matters the most.
Nevertheless, Kenyans took to the comment section to express how proud they are for the global film icon to recognise their country.

Viola is not the only international star who has proudly embraced merchandise from Kenya. It is worth noting that British model and Actress Naomi Campbell has never shied away from expressing how much she loves the country. In the past, Naomi has been spotted rocking Maasai attire while visiting the country.
“People should not shy away from visiting Kenya. Life in Kenya is natural and beautiful,” she said in a past interview.
