The Luo Festival at Carnivore

The Luo Festival, a special showbiz extravaganza that aims at celebrating the flamboyant lifestyle of the Luo community, goes down at the Carnivore grounds in Nairobi this weekend. This Standard Group, Raido Maisha and Arena Media sponsored festival features acts from Dolla Kabarry, Suzanna Owiyo, Princess Julie, Ididi Achieng, Eric Omondi, Jalang’o, Otoyo, Owago Nyiro, Wilbroda and Big Ted among others. Charges are Sh2,000 per day and Sh3,000 for a seasonal ticket.

 

Miss World Kenya at Sankara

The annual Miss World beauty pageant, 2014 edition, gets launched tonight during a glitz ceremony slated for Sankara Nairobi Hotel. The Snapp East Africa Breweries Ltd sponsored event will be a glamour affair featuring top models and players from the showbiz and corporate world. Among those invites include the reigning Miss Kenya Wangui Gitonga and former queens Shamim Nabil and Cecilia Mwangi. Dress code is glamorous.   

 

P-Unit, Ken wa Maria at Nyayo

The Safaricom athletics series takes off at Nyayo Stadium tomorrow afternoon. It is the National relay finals this time round as participants get the platform to showcase their prowess.
