7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins allegedly confesses to child molestation

Profiles

Stephens Collins

The actor's lawyer has spoken out after a recording emerged of Stephen allegedly admitting to sexually abusing young girls.

Stephen Collins’ lawyer claims Faye Grant attempted to get a witness to make false allegations against the actor.

Mark Kaplan, who is representing the 7th Heaven star, told TMZ that her intention was for the witness to testify in their upcoming divorce and say they saw him molest a girl - not one of those mentioned in the recording.

However Kaplan has told the website that the witness – who has reportedly refused to appear at the trial – didn’t actually see any sexual contact.

Kaplan went on to say that Faye didn’t take the refusal very well and went on the ‘warpath’.

Faye has denied leaking the audio in which Stephen can be heard allegedly confessing to sexually abusing young girls.

But in court papers obtained by Mirror Celeb, the actress addresses her husband’s issues.

She claims he was having sessions with a "sexual dysfunction" therapist - but he refused to seek proper treatment for paedophilia, which she expressed concern about.

She said: "Obviously I am sickened by Stephen's actions. I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek proper treatment for pedophilia.

"I am particularly afraid of what may happen if he does not seek treatment, because he may be working or interacting with children in connection with his employment."

The 57-year-old, who has a daughter with Stephen, continues: Faye claimed in the documents: "In the presence of his therapist, Stephen admitted that he has engaged in a long term pattern of sexually abusing minor children, including sexually molesting three young girls over a decade ago.

"I believe that there have been other victims, but he has thus far only confessed to those girls."

The New York City Special Victims' Unit is now investigating claims Stephen had molested "at least three" minor victims between the ages of 10 and 14, which he allegedly admitted to in January 2012.
