Instagram pulls down Rihanna's nude photos

Nudity is fast making its way onto social media platforms, as social media users throw caution to the wind. However, Rihanna is the most recent celebrity to have her photos pulled down by Instagram after they were deemed too explicit.

The social photo sharing site threatened to shut down the singer's account if she didn't remove the NSFW pictures  

On Tuesday the pop beauty posted pictures from an upcoming shoot with French magazine Lui, where she poses topless and another where she has her completely naked rear on display.

The risqué shots, taken by famous photographer Mario Sorrenti, quickly sent the Internet into a spin and it wasn't long before Instagram threatened to shut down her account if she didn't remove the shots which violated the site's code of conduct.

Instagram's guidelines read: "If you wouldn’t show the photo or video you are thinking about uploading to a child, or your boss, or your parents, you probably shouldn’t share it on Instagram.

“The same rule applies to your profile photo. Accounts found sharing nudity or mature content will be disabled and your access to Instagram may be discontinued.”

After the offending pictures were removed, Rihanna posted another mocked up image of her completely covered up alongside an unhappy emoji - and shared the revealing shots with her 35million Twitter followers instead.

In one picture, the naked singer is lying on her stomach on a fluffy orange towel, her bottom (and pretty much everything else) on show.

She did manage to remember to pop on a pair of huge showbiz shades, though.

Even the front cover of the French magazine has Rih clad in just a tiny pair of popping pink bikini bottoms and a denim bucket hat - her nipple piercing on full show.
