It is that time of the year when Geoffrey Korio consults his crystal ball to predict what is likely to happen this year. This is what he foresees;

AI Invades Music Streaming Apps

It is only a matter of time before streaming apps such as Spotify, Boomplay, Mdundo and the likes to experience the full force of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This can result in both job losses and loss of revenue; however, if they are prepared, then they can capitalize on this. One of the apps spearheading this revolution is AIVA. AIVA (Artificial Intelligence Virtual Artist) is an AI-powered music composition tool that can create original music tracks based on user preferences. The tool analyzes data points such as genre, tempo, and mood to create unique compositions that can be used in films, TV shows, and video games.

Death of Arbantone

A new wave of music known as Arbantone swept the local scene and has been described as the replacement for Gengetone. To others, this genre is an obsession to rebrand Gengetone with the view of attracting the corporate world for endorsements and leaving behind the Ghetto background. However, and (un)fortunately, that music trend died as quickly as it started and the pioneer artistes have since gone back to the drawing board. We look forward to what they will cook up next.

Nadia, Arrow Bwoy tie the knot

We are hoping that lightning strikes twice the same place in our predictions about pop artistes Nadia Mukami and Arrow Bwoy becoming an item. To paraphrase it (their relationship) is not about clout chasing. “Most people don’t understand but I have come of age when I need to have someone I can build a future with,” Nadia said while live streaming with her shirtless partner by her side. And to cement their relationship, the lovebirds could look to wed this year in a blissful ceremony attended by the who’s who of the music industry.

Bamboo to predict the end of the world

After rebranding himself to the New Bamboo and embarking on online content that seeks to open the eyes of the people, Bamboo might just attempt to warn his audience about the end of the world in one of his sermons.

Ababu and Sakaja to appear in music videos

While in no way do they look like they are endorsing a certain musician, and this being last year’s prediction as well, elected officials, CS for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts Hon Ababu Namwamba and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja will look to showcase their youthful exuberance by being ‘hands-on’ and participate in unorthodox events with one of them making cameos in music videos.

Crazy Kennar expands live-on-stages

Following a successful maiden live-on-stage performance dubbed Happy Country, online content comedian and creator Crazy Kennar with support from other content creators, musicians and media personalities will look to ride on this wave of success by launching other similar events regularly.
