Mugithi singer Samidoh on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, had the privilege of hanging out with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at his residence in Iruri Village, Mathira.

Honouring an invitation by the DP, Samidoh entertained thousands of youth who had been invited by Riggy G for a Christmas treat and was later taken on a tour of his farm.

The singer also gifted Gachagua a dairy cow to crown his visit.

“I honoured the invite from my no. one fan and mentor The Deputy President @official_rigathi_gachagua at his residence in irúrï village, Mathira, and had a chance to entertain thousands of youths whom he had invited for a Christmas treat.

“I also had the privilege to gift Him Wanjiku; a dairy cow, whose name was chosen by her excellency @pastor_dorcas_rigathi,” he wrote.

A month ago, the Deputy President praised Samidoh’s resilience and hard work, urging the youth to borrow a leaf from him.

While attending a function where the musician performed and launched a foundation, Riggy G said Samidoh is a perfect example of inspiration.

"From a humble background to a super maestro in the music industry, the story of Samuel Muchoki, alias Samidoh, is a beautiful one.

"It is a story of resilience, hope, and an inspiration to not only budding artists but also to the youth—that they can make it in life through hard work, focus, and, of course, prayers,” he said.

Adding: "Samidoh continues to stand out and inspire us through his music, innovation, and creativity. We celebrate him and are very proud of him.”

Gachagua, however, has not been shy to correct the singer, whose love life has been fodder for blogs.

At the start of this year, the DP asked Samidoh to put his house in order following a Dubai incident that almost went south.

He said it was embarrassing for Samidoh, Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu and Edday Nderitu to engage in an altercation, especially in a foreign country.

"Samidoh, you know how we love you and your songs. Don't take your family affairs abroad. We don't want foreigners to know so much about us," he told a bowed Samidoh.

Gachagua, who was speaking during the burial of Pauline Nyokabi, sister to Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, warned that Samidoh who doubles as an administration police officer, would be punished if he did not put his house in order.

"Wewe Samidoh ni rafiki yangu, na unajua vile tunakupenda na nyimbo zako lakini kuna pahali unatuangusha kidogo. (Samidoh is a good friend of mine and we love his songs but he is causing us embarrassment.)," said the Deputy President.

He added; "Samidoh needs to control his people because as the African proverb says 'an elephant never tires carrying its tusks'."
