A hilarious online skit in which DJ Shiti is heard scamming Kenya Australian-based actress Lucy Musa has been doing rounds on the internet in the past few days.
The post on DJ Shiti’s YouTube channel has so far attracted about 70,000 views and about 300 comments with many agreeing that many have experienced such a con game where Kenyans abroad are being scammed to send money back home to fund projects that do not exist.
The skit has found its way into social media channels with fans here in Kenya and abroad joining the debate.
“I honestly didn’t expect this to go viral. I am shocked at how people have received this and that shows the impact such social messaging can have on issues that concern all of us,” Lucy Musa told Pulse in a phone interview.
“I am currently in South Africa working on a big project with some big shots in the industry. I traveled here from Australia a while back and the shot is already on. I will be giving you details on this very soon,” said Musa, who is an athlete and health practitioner besides being an entertainer.
In the skit, DJ Shiti goes on a phone call with Lucy, his purported distance girlfriend, bragging about his achievements and posh living.
He charms the actress with big talk about how his family owns investments in the city and even goes ahead to promise that he will spoil her on a yacht cruise once she visits Kenya.
As she gets smitten and over the moon in all the lovey-dovey, little does she know DJ Shiti – the Forex Trader – is living from hand-to-mouth in a shanty house. She is getting scammed!
