President William Ruto on Wednesday joined the nation in mourning the death of singer Ally B who died after a short illness.
The Head of State described the deceased as a talented artiste whose music fostered unity in society.
“I join the music fraternity in mourning the passing of Ally B, a musician who harnessed his talent to foster unity and harmony in our society.
“Ali Khamisi Mwanguli inscribed his message of peace deep within our hearts, and we will forever carry that meaningful tune. May God provide solace to his family, friends and devoted fans,” wrote the President.
Senate Speaker Amason Kingi also sent his condolence message, lauding the impact Ally B had at the Coast and on upcoming artistes.
"I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fans of Ally B, who passed on today in Mombasa. Ally B was a talented artiste whose music featured prominently in the entertainment landscape both at the Coast, across Kenya and beyond our borders."
"We have lost a young and dynamic youth who was an inspiration to many upcoming artists. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he wrote.
Close family sources said the artiste suddenly fell ill and was rushed to Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital where he died on Wednesday afternoon.
