Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o was spotted out with actor Joshua Jackson right before she announced her split from Selema Masekela.
The two attended Janelle Monae's concert in Inglewood, California on October 18.
Both famous personalities are now going through a break-up. Lupita revealed her split from TV Host Selema last week; while Joshua Jackson’s estranged wife Jodie Turner-Smith filed for divorce earlier this month.
The Oscar winner and Dawson’s Creek actor reportedly chatted casually during the concert, and were photographed alongside each other as well as among friends.
Daily Mail reports: “[Jackson], 45, who shares three-year-old daughter Juno Rose Diana with his soon-to-be ex, looked to be taking his mind off his heartbreak as he sat next to [Lupita], 40, and enjoyed a chat with her.”
“Joshua and Lupita were seen gazing into each other's eyes and sharing a joke as they took in the star's The Age of Pleasure show from their seats.”
TMZ released photos from the evening, and reported that inside sources confirmed that there was nothing romantic about the night out.
“Sources with direct knowledge tell us Joshua and Lupita arrived together, but were among a group of about 9 or 10 people,” the website reported, adding, “as further proof, we're told there was no PDA.”
Lupita and Selema dated for about a year before going their separate ways, as announced by the actress in a heartfelt post on her Instagram account.
She wrote on October 20: “At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust."
“I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception. But I am reminded that the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity to love... And so, I am choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is.”
On the other hand, Jackson was reportedly blindsided when Jodie Turner filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
People Magazine reported: “She decided that she is done,” a source told People of the 37-year-old actress, who filed for divorce from the [Jackson] after more than three years of marriage.
"They are on very different paths in life," the source continued. "Jodie loves being a mom. She also loves working."
