Jada Pinkett Smith has been on a roll this week and in an interview with RollingOut, she reflected on her friendship with the late Tupac Shakur.

The actress described their connection as a ‘friendship-love chemistry’ but said it was not possible to take things to the next level.

"If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have travelled a few together.

"There was no chemistry between us…It was like God made us that way. It was like, look, I'm going to put y'all together, right? Y'all are going to be a dynamic duo. But I'm going to tell you right now, I'm going to make it so y'all are not going to be able to get together 'cause that just wasn't the purpose,” she said.

This comes just a day after she claimed actor and comedian Chris Rock once asked her out on a date amid rumours that her marriage was ending.

Jada made these comments during an interview with People magazine, during which she said Chris heard the couple was getting a divorce and decided to shoot his shot.

“I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce. So, he called me and basically, he was like, ‘I'd love to take you out.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren't you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumours,’” Jada told People.

She said after rejecting the offer, Chris was shocked to learn that the two actors were still together and apologised.

Earlier this week, Jada dropped a bombshell, informing the world that she parted ways with Will Smith in 2016.

Speaking to Hoda Kotb, Jada said she has found it difficult to file for divorce because she had made a promise not to.

“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. And I just haven’t been able to break that promise,” she said but stressed that they live separately.

She has also highlighted the same in her memoir ‘Worthy’, where she has explained why their marriage could no longer work.

Jada and Smith got married in December 1997 and have two children; Jaden Smith and Willow Smith.
