Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has defended her relationship with Mugithi star Samidoh saying she is well within the law.

In an interview with NTV, Nyamu said she had not broken any law asking the interviewer to familiarise himself with polygamy laws.

"Unajua sheria vizuri? Unazijua sheria? Enda uangalie sheria ambayo eh...ya polygamy. Ambayo imepitishwa kwa hii bunge yetu.

"Kwa hivyo hizo maswali ambazo unaniuliza naona kama hazina nguvu mkono wala mguu kwasababu sijavunja sheria yeyote kukuwa katika situation mimi niko," she said.

Nyamu also said the youth should borrow a few qualities from her as she pursues her goals relentlessly.

"Young people would love to emulate me because I am living a truthful life. Don't fear anyone and go for your dreams. God blesses those who go for what they want," she added.

Last month the nominated senator said she was happy her children had a present father but also hoped Edday Nderitu would enjoy the same.

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu on Thursday she is happy that her children have a present father in Samidoh but hoped Edday Nderitu would enjoy the same.

Nyamu further stated that she is often misunderstood and some of the things said about her are not true.

She said she is not a home wrecker, adding that she has grown thick skin after being in the political arena for years and being part of a love triangle that has constantly given fodder to bloggers.

"I am the most misunderstood woman in Kenya. Na si ati nataka you understand me you know. You don't have to. But I love that I'm real to myself, my God and the people I deal with every day," she said.

In July this year, Edday said she had parted ways with Samidoh, clarifying that she is not in any polygamous union.

Through a post on her socials, she said she opted out of her marriage with the Mugithi star over what she termed as a toxic environment.

She added that she had to protect her teenage daughter and her own sanity.

"I am not in any polygamous marriage as stated I left the husband for whoever needed him more. I made a decision to remove myself and my kids from that toxic environment especially my teen daughter who unfortunately is the direct recipient of unbelievable behaviour displayed," she wrote.
