Stivo Simple Boy has announced a meet and greet at a hotel in Mlolongo and the entry fee will be a modest Sh200.

Announcing it via Tiktok, Stivo warmly welcomed his fans for the Saturday event, promising a fun time of celebrating together. In part, he says, “Kuja tuburudike, mambo yakuwe bravo bravo, yaani, freshi barida.”

However, Kenyans are urging him not to sell himself short; they believe Sh200 is too low a price. A comment on the video said, “200 bob mbona, this is too low of you, pandisha bana, your game is top notch,” to which Simple Boy replies,” Next time, mkuu.”

Stivo is no stranger to 'brokeness'. In an exclusive interview with The Standard a couple of weeks ago, he admitted to being flat-broke.

The singer said he had fallen out with his management due to a misunderstanding they had with his wife and was open to any shows that would give him some money.

In a separate interview, he expressed disappointment that many individuals who had promised to help him did not reach out and were using his name to chase clout.

He added that he would appreciate help in form of furniture for his house, capital to start a business and links to top brand partnerships.

The artiste also expressed gratitude to his wife for being the first to notice that he was struggling to make ends meet and informing the public.

Passion for music

Stivo gained a passion for music from a young age and he sharpened his skills and talent by regularly attending daily rehearsals organized by Kibera Creative Arts (KICA).

He has performed on various stages in Kibera and beyond and began his singing career in 2015 with the song Ukimwi(AIDS).

In 2017, he recorded and released his second song Mihadarati, followed by a video of the same. Later he released Inauma and said he wrote it to express the pain he was going through after getting severely trolled on various social media platforms.

Some of his popular songs include Mihadarati, Ni Nani, Mapenzi ya Pesa and Freshi Barida.
