UK-based Kenyan content creator Shorn Arwa has claimed that she has made millions from content creation in the UK.

Through an Instagram post, Arwa said she was glad she relocated to a place where her craft is acknowledged and appreciated.

She added that despite her short stay, she was already enjoying the fruits of her work.

“Today I got my first couple of millions as a content creator, and on such days I thank God I relocated to a place where my craft is acknowledged and appreciated.

“I haven’t been here for long and already God is showing off, “she said.

She further added that she felt the need to share her small wins in a bid to encourage upcoming content creators that they are on the right path.

“Why am I posting this? I want to encourage that little content creator who isn`t able to fit in the aesthetics of “cool girl”

“I want to let her know that it is okay to be different, keep going the right people will know exactly what to do with your type of creativity, “she said.

She also recalled the challenges she encountered in Kenya while searching for a job and how some clients were unsure of how to categorise her content.

“I remember one time asking someone “big” in Kenya for some gig and he said “we can`t categorize you anywhere, we do not know what to do with your type of content. I felt so sad for real but today that type of content that couldn’t be categorized back home gave me a couple of millions,” she said.

Arwa, who is a mother, relocated to the UK in April 2023 and during her farewell party, she spoke of her fears, including having to raise her son in a totally new environment.

She, however, stated that it was something she had always looked forward to even though it gave her mixed emotions.

“I was so excited because I have always thought of leaving, I have always dreamt of leaving Kenya but when I finally learnt I was leaving it wasn't as exciting as I thought that moment would feel..." she said.

Adding: "The reality of leaving everything I've known now dawned on me and I was like eehh jamani... My son won't know what it feels like to grow up as a child in Kenya. And then things starting hitting me, those days of saying I'm bored let me go to Nairofey's house... or I am bored let me book a flight to Mombasa or Malindi are over.”
