Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Friday heaped praises on Interior CAS Millicent Omanga, saying she played a crucial role in helping William Ruto bag the presidency.
Speaking during the thanksgiving ceremony of Education CS Ezekiel Machogu in Kisii, the DP noted that at times it was difficult to get Omanga onto their campaign trucks but her input was immense.
"Huyu mrembo alisimama na sisi huko Nairobi, ata kama hakupata, alikosa tu kidogo kwa sababu ya siasa ya ukabila hawa kina Arati.
"Huyu msichana alichangia kiasi kikubwa ushindi wa rais William Ruto katika mji wa Nairobi na ni mfanyikazi. Alitembea usiku na mchana. Ata kama alituhangaisha kumpandisha juu ya gari na kumtoa, alitusaidia."
(This lady supported us in Nairobi and even though she did not emerge victorious in the Woman Rep race, she is a go-getter. She immensely contributed to William Ruto's win and even though we struggled to get her onto our campaign trucks, she is a huge asset to us.)
Gachagua further stated that Omanga's loyalty was rewarded by the President who appointed her Interior CAS.
"This is why she was given a big position in the Interior ministry. She will work with Prof Kithure Kindiki."
Ahead of the planned Azimio protests set for Monday next week, Gachagua tasked Omanga with taking on Raila Odinga in case there is destruction of property.

Raila has maintained that starting next week, the Azimio group will be holding protests bi-weekly until Ruto's government lowers the cost of living.
The ODM leader further claimed that a faction of the government is planning to counter the protests by causing mayhem to portray him as a violent politician, claims that were rubbished by Gachagua.
