Renowned music producer Clement Rapudo Sijenyi aka Clemo is among 33 persons who were nominated by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for the position of County Chief Officer.
Clemo has been nominated to the City Culture, Arts and Tourism docket, subject to vetting and approval by the county assembly.
The producer, who was the force behind Calif Records at the start of the millennium, worked with various local artistes including Jua Cali, Flexx and Nonini and he is the brains behind ‘Beat ya Clemo’ that took over the airwaves for years.
According to Speaker Ken Ng’ondi, vetting will take place on December 22, 2022, and the reports will be tabled for approval.
County Chief Officers are tasked with coordinating and directing various departmental duties as well as developing and implementing strategic plans.
They are also expected to prepare budgets and manage finances as well as implement policies and programmes within their dockets.
While county CEC members are equivalent to Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) in the national government, chief officers are equivalent to permanent secretaries.
