It's a girl! Vanessa Mdee, Rotimi expecting second child

US-based Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee and her fiance Rotimi are expecting their second child.

The celebrity couple took to social media to share a gender reveal video captioned "Baby No. 2 glory to God ... it's a girl."

They welcomed their first child, Seven Adeoluwa Akinosho, in September 2021 just a year into their relationship.

Speaking to People Daily, Rotimi described being a first-time dad as super exciting.

"We are super excited to welcome our son. As first-time parents, everything about this experience has been a brand-new challenge. We love it," he said.

The couple, who met in 2020 at the Essence Festival after-party in New Orleans, have often showered each other with love, and publicly speak about their journey.

"We are happy that we get to share it with the world and show the world what it's like to find love in this time where sometimes it feels almost impossible," said Vanessa in a previous interview.

Past relationship

Before dating Rotimi, Vanessa had been in a long-term relationship with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux and they were considered Tanzania's 'Beyonce and Jay Z'.

The couple, however, broke up and their fans got the news a few months later when Vanessa spilled the beans in a question and answer session on Instagram.

Jux was the first to introduce his new catch to the internet and wondered why her ex-girlfriend was offended after he moved on.

"I don't understand why she kept blasting me after I moved on yet in the first place she is the one who told me she wants us to break up. I made the decision to introduce my new girlfriend Nayika after she broke the news that we were no longer together despite us agreeing that we would keep it a secret. Immediately after that, she started whining and calling me out, I don't quite follow why she did that," Jux explained.
