Kokoto, who is known for his roles in Vioja Mahakamani, Hullabaloo and Daktari, said his 13-year-old son is battling Sickle Cell Anemia and needs urgent treatment.

"Currently he is not attending classes because the spleen has enlarged and made his stomach enlarge. The condition had also made him have gallstones which are supposed to be removed through surgery," Kokoto stated.

The comedian said he needs around Sh625,000 at the moment and doctors have advised him to take his son to India.

"During the last medical checkup after the boy was admitted at MamaLucy Kibaki Hospital, the doctor recommended that he should undergo surgery for the removal of the spleen and vaccination as well. The total cost will be about Ksh625,275. But this will only help for a while.

"We have been advised to travel to India for the bone marrow transplant which helps up to 80 per cent as he will be able to live a normal life, though as a carrier," he shared.

Recently, stand-up comedian Akuku Danger, who is battling a similar condition, expressed gratitude to his fans for the support they accorded him during his stay in hospital.

His bill stood at Sh823,000 but through contributions from well-wishers, he exceeded the set target.

"Our expectations have been surpassed by far. The pay bill is still running, feel free to send your contribution. Thank you so much," he wrote at the time.
