A photo of Kenyan lawyer and politician Paul Muite has been doing rounds on social media with reports claiming he has cancer.
In the photo, Paul Muite is seen posing with an unidentified woman and it is clear he has significantly reduced weight.
The photo has since gone viral with netizens wishing him a quick recovery from cancer.
However, through his Twitter handle, the Safina party leader has since rebuffed these claims and responded by saying he does not have cancer and that he is in fact losing weight intentionally to control his sugar levels.
“Reports on social media that I am sick with cancer are NOT TRUE. Given my age, I have had to shed off weight on purpose to keep sugar levels." Read the tweet.
Muite continued by saying that he had never felt better and that he was proud of himself for completing a one-and-a-half-hour jog in Ngong forest.
