South African-based Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan has responded to reactions by fans on the recently released Young, Famous and African show she featured in.

Taking to social media to comment on the show, Zari began by appreciating her fans for the overwhelming reception the show received, revealing that it had made it to various trending tabs globally.

“Young Famous and African trending everywhere across the globe babe. We are trending in all areas of the world. I just want to say thank you so much and we appreciate the love. Keep watching if you haven’t, please do it,” she said.

The social media influencer went on to give credit to viewers for the show’s incredible success explaining that without them the production would be nothing.

“We literally owe it to you our viewers, you have made this show trend. Thank you so much. Guys, I can’t even say it enough. I just want to say thank you so much. It is one thing having a show and it is one thing having a successful show. That for me…. I can’t explain it,” she added.

The mother of five featured alongside her ex-boyfriend, singer Diamond Platnumz, Nigerian actress Annie Idibia and her husband Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia, media personality Khanyi Mbau, South African DJ Naked Masina, his girlfriend Kayleigh Schwark, Zimbabwean rapper Nadia Nakai, Andile Ncube and Nigerian superstar stylist Swanky Jerry.

Zari, who joined the show in the third episode, rubbed some people the wrong way, among them Annie Idibia.

The two celebrities got into a heated argument over Annie’s marriage with 2Baba, a matter that easily became the agenda of the show.

Annie’s take

Touching on the matter, Annie explained that the show was full of other amazing events that the producers chose to omit therefore portraying her in a rather negative way.

“I gave them the mother, I gave them the tasking career woman and entrepreneur and finally I gave them the wife. Told my story as genuine as I could. In all honesty, I gave my whole me to it. Sadly none of those scenes made it to the show, took out my work. The main role I play as a mother in my children’s lives and only put out my love in marriage. Regardless all in all I am happy about the opportunity,” she wrote.

Coming to her defense was her husband 2Baba who was quick to tell off critics trolling Annie for her loyalty and commitment.

“No matter what, you cannot take away the fact that this beautiful queen is a ride or die. A true African queen, no film trick with this woman. Realest,” he wrote.
