Kenya’s Entertainment Giants are the OAH Project X Jurors

If you haven’t yet heard about the exciting project coming to Kenya for creatives aged between 18-35, you are just in time!

The ITC-Ethical Fashion Initiative, European Union and KTN Home and Vybez Radio are together launching a project in KENYA called “The Opportunities are Here-Project X”. We are touring African countries to find the best of the best in fashion design, modelling and performing arts, to launch them into their careers and ultimately transform them from job seekers to job creators.

Kenya, Without further adieu we would like to introduce you to your jurors: Singer-Songwriter - Bensoul, Model and CEO of Velour Model Management - Paynette Nyawara and Designer - John Kaveke. Let's Learn a bit more about them:

Our Artiste Juror Bensoul is progressively building a niche as one of Kenya's top live acts.

The multi-instrumentalist (bass, acoustic & electric guitar, keys, drums & violin) and producer eats, breathes and lives music; affirming, ''all i want to do is to leave a legacy by creating music that is timeless." Describing his sound as an eclectic fusion of the live instruments and electronic elements creating a unique and fresh urban african sound. Bensoul has taken the African music scene by storm with his first hit releases of ''lucy'', ''favorite song'' and collaboration ''extravaganza'' having already gathered over 9,000,000 views and counting.

These releases coincide with his signing to sol generation records - a music label founded by Africa's best live act, Sauti sol.

Paynette Joan Nyawara @paynettejoan will be Our Model Category Juror. She is the CEO of one of Kenya's fastest-rising modeling agencies- Velour Model Management. She started modeling in 2012, and 2 years later felt the need to help aspiring models maneuver the industry. Starting as a trainer in 2014 and eventually a talent manager, she has managed to help young Kenyan models build their brands. She is driven by the desire to see more Kenyan models on international catwalks and magazines.

John Kaveke will be our Designer Juror. He has over 15 years of expertise in the fashion industry, his stunning masterpieces have graced an international platform of Fashion Week Events in London; United Kingdom, Sarajevo; Bosnia, Lagos & Port Harcourt; Nigeria; Port Louis, Mauritius; Addis Ababa; Ethiopia, Dar es Salam; Tanzania and in Nairobi & Mombasa; Kenya.

A graduate of Woodgrove Fashion College in Kenya and Instituto Europeo di Mode in Barcelona; Spain, John Kaveke launched his fashion label in 1999 and is well known for his bold contemporary style.

John Kaveke is a free-spirited individual with a passion in reconstructing vibrations through his work. His creative designs have been known to bring about individualism, strength and artistry. His major focus is on bespoke but contemporary menswear.
