Mercy Chinwo is one of the biggest music exports Nigeria has ever produced. After winning Nigerian Idol in 2014, the mellow-voiced singer went ahead to release her debut single Testimony, in 2015 before her world-acclaimed hit Excess Love shook the globe throughout last year – winning her numerous international awards and collaborations with worlds greats. The singer has teamed up with award-winning gospel artist Emmy Kosgei in her new project, the latter’s biggest release since she relocated to Nigeria after marrying Apostle Anselm Madubuko in 2013.

“As you are aware, I have already released Maloo (It Won’t Be Long), which is the first single from the project. I have featured an all-Nigerian band and the song comes with a fresh afro-fusion touch with a jazz feel, something I have never done. More songs on this project are coming before the end of October. What I can reveal for now is that I have done a couple of collaborations with Mercy Chinwo. I also featured in Nifunike song by Boss of MOG - that just got released,” she said.
Saying that her husband has been very supportive in this new project, Emmy noted that it’s a testimony that she has grown musically.
