“Speed at a certain point in my life was me riding a tire hastily and fast from the shopping centre into my grandmother’s house in the village of Shamakhokho. That didn’t last long because I went straight into a big pot of tea that was cooking.  I remember screaming, there was a frenzy, my mom was screaming, but there was this one man who came and put everything in order. He came took me into his arms and started screaming, ‘get out of here’. He was ordering everyone crowding that place to get away. Mr William Mudigi, such a respected man and within no time I was in hospital being taken care of,” narrated Savara.

The men I look up to

"I grew up in Maringo, Eastlands in a nice, small house. A one-bedroom house that was full of love."

Savara spoke highly of his grandfather describing his as his role model, the man that shaped his view on life.

“The guy commanded respect. He walked straight and I remember very well seeing him standing in front of his shop dressed in his Kaunda suit. The guy was a shylock and so from him, I learnt the value of money. I also learnt about order and the value of being respected,” he said.

The singer said that when his grandfather passed on, sorrow gripped their village because of the influence he had on people. Although he is not alive to see what his grandson amounted to, Savara appreciated him for shaping his life.

Daddy dearest

“Let me speak to you about my father. I grew up in Maringo, Eastlands in a nice, small house. A one-bedroom house that was full of love. My Papa, Mr Humphrey Mudigi was the sole breadwinner and that guy is a ninja I’m telling you.  Unlike my grandfather he was relatable. He wasn’t scary or wasn’t feared by people. He was calm and collected,” he narrated.
