Former NRG presenter turned singer Tanasha Donna has forgiven and withdrawn her lawsuit against Tanzanian personality Burton Mwijaku following his public apology after he claimed to have fathered her son Naseeb Junior.

Speaking during an Interview on Mambo Mseto, Donna explained that she let the matter go after receiving the apology from Mwijaku after he realized he erred and made amends.

“I’m glad he took that initiative because I filed a case in court. We, me and the father of my child, sent him a demand letter. We were about to sue him... We took it very seriously because it was very wrong for him to claim another man’s child; to claim a woman you have never met nor spoken to in your life. You claim that person’s son for kiki, for stupid clout. I felt that justice needed to be served but since he asked for forgiveness, I forgave him,” she said.

In his apology, Mwijaku explained that he did not mean he was the biological father of Naseeb Jr, rather that he and the boy’s father, Diamond Platnumz, hailed from the same village, communally binding them.

“Diamond and I come from Kigoma, and people from our place treat each other like brothers. That means his son is my son because we carry the same blood from where we come from, not biologically but ancestry,” he stated. “I live traditionally but because I believe that she might have taken it the wrong way I would like to ask for an apology because I meant no harm. I ask an apology from the whole family and if they do not want me to refer to Naseeb as my son, then it's all good."

Mwijaku’s earlier claims irked many social media users who bashed him for allegedly trying to drive a wedge between Donna and her family.

Among those pushing for swift action to be taken was Tanzanian singer Ray C who accused the Clouds Media personality of cyberbullying and urged Donna to take legal action.

“Duniani hakuna alio kamili...kuna vitu sisi kama binadamu tunafanya vya kipuuzi sana ila kuna muda mtu inabidi ukue kimawazo na kiakili pia na ni lazma ujue unachokifanya kwa mtu mwingine atakichukuliaje kibinaadamu. This is so wrong in so many levels.Kama baba mwenye familia yake sidhani kama hii kitu inachekesha. This is unacceptable. Kuna watu wanaathirika kisaikolojia kabisa sababu ya #cyberbullying

"Mwijaku haufanyi sawa hata kidogo...Na nchi za wenzetu ungekuwa ushawekwa ndani for this.@tanashadonna Get a lawyer and sue this b*tch ass ni**a.This is beyond disrespectful. Kama mwanamke naboreka sana na huu upuuzi, ifike mahali wanawake tuteteane...sio sawa hata kidogo. Haifurahishi wala haivutii. This has to stop. It’s not funny at all,” wrote Ray C.
